Season two of criminology dives into a mostly unknown case–that is, until the 40-year unsolved case was solved all of a sudden in 2018. The Golden State Killer, also known as the East Area Rapist and the Original Nightstalker, is guilty of over 100 break-ins, over 50 rapes, and at least 12 murders.
Why this book?: Now that I’m back to reading, I’ve decided that I need to make progress on the various books I have from NetGalley that I haven’t sent back feedback on. This is one of them, mainly due to it’s graphic content that I wasn’t expecting.
I would like to thank the people at Wildblue Press for allowing me to have an advance copy of this book via NetGalley.
After moving across country, Skye decides to remake herself in order to fit in and make friends. While Skye soon finds a group of friends to be with, her sister Deirdre is not so lucky, outcasted both by her classmates, and now her sister, who used to spend all her time with her. When Deirdre goes missing, Skye soon realizes that she’d do anything to get her sister back.
Why this book?: Horror always gets me back into reading when I’ve been dealing with a slump, and now that I’ve graduated once and for all, I have a lot of freetime to fill!
Siblings Ryan and Jane decide to spend one last holiday before their family vacation home in the mountains is sold after a divorce. They invite their closest friends, but all that does is bring up old wounds and awkward memories. As a blizzard snows them in, frustration builds between the friends, all the while something in the forest inches closer and closer.
Why this book?: I was in the mood for some stereotypical, potentially gorey, horror. This was available on Scribd and the summary caught my attention, so let’s hope this scratches that itch I’ve been having!
Felix Allsey is a travel writer down on his luck, desperate for a break that will make him a household name. But as more and more strange events start happening, they realize they may have bit off more then they can chew.
Why this book?: I’m trying to get back into reading and reviewing, and fast-paced horror seemed the best place to do that. I found this one on Scribd, and thought it looked interesting!
