With more on her plate than the average high school senior, Emma Robledo does the most logical thing: drop out of school. Fighting the corrupt government with superpowered team is definitely overwhelming, especially for someone without powers.

Why this book?: I’ve really enjoyed the rest of the Sidekick Squad series, and I can’t wait for Emma’s side of the story to be brought to the forefront.

I would like to thank Interlude Press for sending me a copy in advance via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Review #216 // Not Your Villain (Sidekick Squad #2) – C.B. Lee

35018774Bells Broussard, AKA Chameleon, is now the most wanted villain in the country. Despite fighting against the massive cover-up for inhumane experimentation, the Heroes League of Heroes make it nearly impossible to fight back. This makes college applications harder to fill out, and crushing on his best friend certainly doesn’t help.

Why this book?: I loved the first book, Not Your Sidekick.

Lee’s Sidekick Squad series, Not Your Villain! I loved the first, Not Your Sidekick, of which I just reviewed here, and highly recommend the series. Not Your Villain features a transgender MC, Bells, who was introduced in the first. I loved Bells in the first, so I’m excited to read the continuation of the series from his point of view!

Enjoy the excerpt!

Not Your Sidekick (Sidekick Squad, #1)

With Jess’s parents being Andover’s local heroes, and her sister being the most recent up and coming hero, Jess is desperate to show powers before her 17th birthday. When she doesn’t, her job search lands her an internship–but with Andover’s local villains.

Why this book?: I was looking for something fun, and I’ve lost count the number of times I’ve had this recommended to me.
