Quiz #3 [Blog Tour] // Can You Survive the Road in Briar Glen Forest?

Rules for Vanishing (1)Hi all! I realize you haven’t heard from me that much recently, but I’m trying to keep this blog as active as I can as I go through my second year of college. Thankfully, the people at Penguin Young Readers were able to offer me this amazing opportunity, and I was gifted a surprise package in the form of a diverse and spooky upcoming YA release.

Below, you won’t find my review (not just yet!), but you’ll find something just as amazing. I very loosely based a short horror quiz off this story. While I didn’t want to spoil much with the options, I thought that I took it in a fairly neutral, but fun, direction. I hope y’all enjoy!

Follow THIS LINK HERE to take the quiz.

There are nine questions. Let me know if you survive!

This post was a little short, so I figured I could add in a little bit about the quiz and my ideas behind it.

Just as I mentioned above, I wanted something that was connected to the story in Rules for Vanishing, but I also didn’t want to spoil what was going to happen, nor go completely away from the ideas of the story. So, I went with the theme of the gates, which are mentioned throughout the story, and instead of placing the ‘challenges’ our characters face into something the readers could choose (‘cuz wow, that would be a lot of spoilers, and what fun is that?), I instead just took the theme and placed riddles in front of them. Some of them might be easy, and eventually you’d be able to understand them by knocking one answer out and then another, but I still thought it would be a fun idea over just a plain review or a very spoiler-y quiz.

So, I hope y’all enjoy the quiz, and let me know what you get! Let me know if you survived or died, or even just what your favorite riddle was!

Rules for Vanishing (1)Additional Information:

Published: September 24th, 2019

Publisher: Viking Books for Young Readers

Page Count: 416

Genre: Horror/Mystery/YA

Synopsis: via Goodreads

In the faux-documentary style of The Blair Witch Project comes the campfire story of a missing girl, a vengeful ghost, and the girl who is determined to find her sister–at all costs.

Once a year, the path appears in the forest and Lucy Gallows beckons. Who is brave enough to find her–and who won’t make it out of the woods?

It’s been exactly one year since Sara’s sister, Becca, disappeared, and high school life has far from settled back to normal. With her sister gone, Sara doesn’t know whether her former friends no longer like her…or are scared of her, and the days of eating alone at lunch have started to blend together. When a mysterious text message invites Sara and her estranged friends to “play the game” and find local ghost legend Lucy Gallows, Sara is sure this is the only way to find Becca–before she’s lost forever. And even though she’s hardly spoken with them for a year, Sara finds herself deep in the darkness of the forest, her friends–and their cameras–following her down the path. Together, they will have to draw on all of their strengths to survive. The road is rarely forgiving, and no one will be the same on the other side.
