In my monthly wrap-ups, you can get a quick recap of what I’ve read and currently reading, all the posts that have been published on this blog with dates and links, as well as a personal update at the very bottom! You’ll get the previous month wrap-up as the first post of every month.
Books I’ve Read & Currently Reading:
Not long after writing last month’s wrap-up, I fell into a book slump. It wasn’t a bad one, though, and I was easily able to fix it by reading a fluffy novella by my friend Ceillie Simkiss. I read her short story collection for her Learning Curves series, titled The Ghosts of Halloween. After I got out of my book slump, I dove into the highly recommended Sadie, by Courtney Summers. While that was a little disappointing, I continued on to a book that I had gotten for my birthday from a friend. And y’all won’t believe what I got.
My friend sent me an ARC of Mason Deaver’s I Wish You All the Best, which rocked my world. I’m going to be holding back my review for a while, because it doesn’t come up until May, but it is just as good as everyone says. The beginning is very hard to get through, as well as certain scenes throughout the novel, but overall it’s an extremely important novel.
Lastly, I finished two books that I was partway through already. I finished reading So You Want to Be a Robot by A. Merc Rustad, which was really fun, as well as Dax Murray’s Birthing Orion.

Personal Updates:
With most mid-terms past, I’ve been relaxing a lot–kind of. I’ve still had a few essays due in classes, such as a Frued/Nathaniel Hawthorne essay that has been consuming my time, but otherwise school has been fun.
This past week has been spring break, and I traveled cross-country to visit family on the east coast. While there, I was able to sneak into New York City and see Amy Rose Capetta’s and Cori McCarthy’s launch for Once & Future! If you saw my wrap-up last month, you’ll know that I devoured the ARC of it. It was so amazing being able to meet them. I also got a mini book haul on the trip, so even though I don’t have pictures (they’re in the car when I’m typing this up, *sobs*), below is the list of the books I was able to snag.
- The Weight of the Stars – K. Ancrum
- The Disasters – M.K. England
- Once & Future – Amy Rose Capetta & Cori McCarthy
- The Steel Prince – V.E. Schwab
- The Umbrella Academy – Gerard Way
- Death Prefers Blondes – Caleb Roehrig
- The Gilded Wolves – Roshani Chokshi
I can’t wait to dive into all of these, they’ve all been highly recommended by friends and authors!!
