November Wrap-Up

Stay in and (1)

This year, I’ve decided to start doing monthly wrap-ups. You can look forward to these posts on the first of every month, with the previous month being discussed.

Deciding what I wanted to include in these posts was hard, but in each of these, you’ll find: books I’ve read this month, posts published, as well as news (be it personal or public). Enjoy!

Books I’ve Read:

The month of November was good to me, in the sense that I got a lot of reading done right before college decided to pile me with a shit-ton of homework and essays and quizzes that I didn’t want to deal with. At the beginning of November, I continued with some spooky reads that I had put down on a tentative TBR that I had for October, but continued on into November.

Chasing American Monsters: 251 Creatures, Cryptids, and Hairy BeastsThose two books were City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab, which was a really cute read that I enjoyed. After that I jumped right into Small Spaces by Katherine Arden, which I was a little unsure about because I didn’t enjoy Arden’s The Bear and the Nightingale. After that I jumped into a group of ARCs that I enjoyed the most of them. Those include She/He/They/Me by Robyn Ryle (which was a huge disappointment), Chasing American Monsters by Jason Offutt (which was SO FUN), and Some Girls Bind by Rory James (which was a really good read despite appearances). After that I took a break from ARCs and dove into the giant pile of shit that ended up being Escaping from Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco. After that I tried reading Bi-Gender by James-Beth Merritt, but ended up not finishing it when I realized it went a lot into their sex life.

Published Posts:

Just as I mentioned in the previous Wrap-Up post, I’ve been struggling with posting since college started getting more intense. By the end of November, I’ve resorted to doing about a post a week, which is really hard for me. However, I do have some books that I still need to review, so you can count on those reviews coming up eventually.

Nov 1st: October Wrap-Up
Nov 3rd: Guest Post: Queer YA Releases That I’m Most Excited for in 2019 – Julia Ember
Nov 6th: Review #198 // That’s Not What Happened – Kody Keplinger
Nov 8th: State of the ARC #3
Nov 10th: Review #199 // Jurassic Park – Michael Crichton
Nov 13th: Diverse Author Spotlight #5: Suzanne van Rooyen
Nov 16th: Buzzfeed Unsolved Book Tag
Nov 21st: Review #200 // City of Ghosts – Victoria Schwab
Nov 27th: Review #201 // Small Spaces – Katherine Arden

Misc. News:

I might go down to a post a week, just until finals are over and the semester has ended and winter break has started. I just have a few more weeks to go, and then I’ll be free…until next semester. I’ll try and keep reading audiobooks, because I knit to destress and I normally listen to audiobooks when I knit.

So, sorry about school affecting this blog, but I have to put school first.
