September Wrap-Up

Stay in and

This year, I’ve decided to start doing monthly wrap-ups. You can look forward to these posts on the first of every month, with the previous month being discussed.

Deciding what I wanted to include in these posts was hard, but in each of these, you’ll find: books I’ve read this month, posts published, as well as news (be it personal or public). Enjoy!

Books I’ve Read:

Since college started this month, I’ve been struggling to read, just as I predicted in my previous wrap-up post. However, I have been reading more than I expected.

The Darkdeep (The Darkdeep, #1)Since last month, I’ve read The Emperor’s Riddle by Kat Zhang, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han, and The Darkdeep by Ally Condie and Brendan Reichs. All of these books were not really that long, and none of them were blow-me-out-of-the-water good, but I was still entertained with TATBILB and The Emperor’s Riddle. The Darkdeep wasn’t all that good.

Books I’m reading currently are The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy as well as Undead Girl Gang. As for e-books, I’m trying to decide if I want to read The House in Poplar Wood, A Lake of Feathers and Moonbeams, or Bird Box. Any input?

Published Posts:

Surprisingly, I’ve stayed caught up on my blog posts, barely. There have been a few close calls where I wouldn’t have kept up my schedule, but I managed to whip a few posts together on one of my free days to get caught up.

Misc. News

My first month in college has been a wild ride. I thought I’d still be in the closet, hiding from everyone. Instead, I moved into the Pride Learning Community last minute, and have meet other queer peoples. My Resident Assistant is trans, and he’s the president of the LGBT+ group here on campus, and every one here is so accepting and uses my pronouns, and I’m now being called Avery in real life.

It was weird at first, having people see the real me, but I’ve fallen into it so well. Just thinking about my luck is making me cry–all of my closest friends are like me, and accept me for who I am, not who I appear to be. It’s just wild for me to feel this amount of love.

Other than that, there’s really not much for me to say. I’m still trying to keep this blog going, but it might drop to fewer posts a week so I can focus more on schoolwork. I still love interacting with the book community, and I think I might start writing again if I can.

I never would have thought coming to college could help me in this way, but I don’t want to leave.

    • I am! I’m currently majoring in English with an emphasis in Professional Writing & Publishing, but I might change the emphasis to literature! My minor is also women’s & gender studies, which I’m excited for ✨ Thanks
