July Wrap-Up

Stay in and

This year, I’ve decided to start doing monthly wrap-ups. You can look forward to these posts on the first of every month, with the previous month being discussed.

Deciding what I wanted to include in these posts was hard, but in each of these, you’ll find: books I’ve read this month, posts published, as well as news (be it personal or public). Enjoy!

Books I’ve Read:

I think I did fairly well last month! I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it on here before, but a little while ago, I got an Audible subscription. Recently, though, it just started to seem too expensive for me, so I looked around, and after chatting with a few friends on Twitter, I found Scribd. And I love it. And it’s MUCH cheaper than Audible.

The Hatching (The Hatching #1)

With Scribd, I started listening to more audiobooks. I’ve only finished one, but as I’m writing this, I’m planning on starting another one. So far in July, though, these are the books I read.

I’ve read Help Wanted by J Emery, The Scorpion Rules by Erin Bow, Hello, Universe by Erin Entrada Kelly, and then I also reread a favorite, Tenderness by Xan West. I also just listened to the audiobook of The Hatching by Ezekiel Boone, which was a terrible choice considering I’m terrified of spiders. Don’t read that book unless you’re cool with spiders. Man-eating spiders.

That’s…less than I was expecting….

Published Posts:

Thankfully, despite my less than impressive reading this month, I have gotten my blog back to regular posting. I even increased the posting schedule, so I post every two days instead of every three. That might have been the reason why I slowed on my reading, but I’m still fairly content with how this has been going. Here are the posts that have been posted in July.

Jul 1st: June Wrap-Up
Jul 4th: Review #173 // The Hollow Boy – Jonathan Stroud
Jul 7th: Queer Summer Reading Sign-Up & TBR
Jul 10th: Review #174 // The Dark Planet – Patrick Carman
Jul 12th: Review #175 // The Handsome Girl & Her Beautiful Boy – B.T. Gottfred
Jul 14th: 9 Nostalgic Series I Need to Reread
Jul 16th: Review #176 // The Creeping Shadow – Jonathan Stroud
Jul 19th: Review #177 // Dare Mighty Things – Heather Kaczynski
Jul 21st: State of the ARC #2
Jul 23rd: Review #178 // The Frighteners – Peter Laws
Jul 25th: Pride Flag Book Tag
Jul 27th: Review #179 // Help Wanted – J. Emery
Jul 29th: Books I’m Bringing With Me to College

Misc. News:

Uhh, well, like I mentioned above, I dropped audible for scribd! And I’m loving it!

One of my family’s chicken’s might be sick, so please send good thoughts and prayers towards my little darling. Her name is Frankie, short for Frankenstein, because my mom let me name the chickens. Never let me name the animals unless you want them named after characters (Hence why the others are named Chivalry, Esteban, Darth Vader, with two normal ones named Ginger and Happy 😀 )

Either way, I’m also dog sitting in the middle of nowhere with no wifi, so hopefully I will get some reading done. If not, yell at me. I will be at home for a few hours every day, hence why I still have posts coming out, but I really want to get some reading done while I’m watching these (extremely difficult) dogs. Wish me luck!

    • It’s amazing so far! I’m finding books that I hadn’t expected to find, such as Spirit Hunters by Ellen Oh, and No Man of Woman Born by Ana Mardoll!! And it looks like she is better, she had a weird wheezing sound, which could mean a lot of things, but it’s gone now. Thanks, and you too!!

  1. Haha, The Hatching sure was not the best choice if you’re terrified of spiders! Was it even scarier because you were listening to it? I feel like that might make it a little more atmospheric and creepy. I hope you have a great August!
