Deciding what I wanted to include in these posts was hard, but in each of these, you’ll find: books I’ve read this month, posts published, as well as news (be it personal or public). Enjoy!

Announcements:

So. If you hadn’t noticed, posting has been very sporadic these past few months. So little that I decided to skip my wrap-up post for April, and do a joint one for April and May. I made a small post sometime in April (I think) that apologized about the random posting, and I did say in that one that this blog will not be shutting down. That is still true.

I’ll be graduating tomorrow (June 2nd), so my schedule is being freed up majorly. I have a lot of reviews to write, so I can guarantee that reviews will be the majority of my posts for a while, but I will be posting again. I’m very excited to start this blog back up to what it once was, and be back to talking to y’all. Thanks for understanding!

Books I’ve Read:

Honestly, I’ve started reading much faster when I started listening to audiobooks. If you read my post Audiobooks, Ableism, & Knitting, I talked about how knitting helped with anxiety as well as my infrequent reading habits. Including audiobooks and required reading for classes, I’ve read The Atrocities by Jeremy C Shipp, All Systems Red by Martha Wells, Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton, Failure to Communicate by Kaia Sønderby, Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco, The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud, The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, The Whispering Skull by Jonathan Stroud, The House of Power by Patrick Carman, Orlando by Virginia Woolf, 1984 by George Orwell, A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerris Maniscalco, Rivers of Fire by Patrick Carman, The Hollow Boy by Jonathan Stroud, and, last but not least, The Dark Planet by Patrick Carman, since the beginning of April. It’s thanks to audiobooks that I managed that many with my schedule, so you can say that I’m a very happy camper.

My required reads were Ethan Frome, The Hate U Give, Orlando, 1984, and A Little Life, and I had to write an essay for A Little Life, which I didn’t enjoy as much as I was hoping. No review yet (I’m so behind) but I will explain my thoughts much more eloquently in that one.

Either way, most of my required reading wasn’t too good. Thankfully, I’m done with all of that now, at least for the summer. I have a feeling that, being an English major, I’ll be having many more required reading assignments than I did before.

Misc. News:

 

So like I said earlier, I’m graduating tomorrow! Graduating from high school, but graduating all the same! I’ll be attending a branch of a state university in the fall, with an English major, and publishing emphasis.

I will also be working a part time job over the summer, but I’ve been working there for over a year now, so I know how to balance my time around that. I will definitely be trying to vamp this website up over the summer, make it a bit more accessible and clean. Otherwise, I’m done with high school and will be getting back into the community more now. I’m excited!!
