Top Ten Books That Have Been on My TBR the Longest and I Still Haven’t Read

Design (3)Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book blogging meme formerly hosted by The Broke and the Bookish but now resides at That Artsy Reader Girl.

It’s not that much of a secret that I have a huge TBR. It’s only gotten bigger since I started dedicating my reading to diverse subjects and characters. So, going onto my Goodreads profile, these are the 10 books at the way bottom of the list, that I’m not sure I’ll ever get to.

Before I start this list, I just have to say that I didn’t even remember half of these books were still on my list. If you know them to be 1) offensive in any way, or 2) amazing as fuck, please tell me. I’ll kick them off my list, or bump them up.

Storm Front (The Dresden Files, #1)Storm Front – Jim Butcher

I originally learned of Jim Butcher through his Codex Alera series, starting with the Furies of Calderon. I liked the first book, and own the rest of the series, and was interested in reading the rest of Butcher’s books. However, I never read more of Codex Alera, and I still haven’t gotten my hands on Storm Front.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – Douglas Adams

I have the edition with all of the books in it, so it’s a big book. I haven’t had the chance to read it yet, and I just haven’t had the chance to read it yet. I just don’t think I’ve heard enough about it yet to commit that much time to reading it, and so I just haven’t read it yet.

The Book Thief

The Book Thief – Marcus Zusak

This book was all the hype a few years back, and I bought it. I just haven’t read it yet, despite people saying that it actually lives up to the hype. I guess I just haven’t read it yet because I’m not that big into historical books, but the fact that it was told from the POV of Death was interesting enough to draw my attention.

Angelfall – Susan Ee

I have to admit that I don’t know where this book from. I heard about it from someplace, and it’s been sitting on my TBR for months. I have the first and the third book of the trilogy sitting on my shelves because I found them at book sales, and I never touched them again. Should I?

The False Prince (The Ascendance Trilogy #1)The False Prince – Jennifer A. Nielsen

A genre I love, but don’t read nearly enough, is Middle Grade. I’ve had False Prince on my list for who knows how long, and I almost hate myself for not reading it sooner. It’s not even that long, and I have it on my shelves for an easy grab. Why @ me, why????

Leviathan – Scott Westerfeld

A close friend of mine has read this series, and she enjoyed it a lot. I also want to read more steampunk stories, and this one is one of the few that I know. While I wasn’t that big of a fan of Westerfeld’s Uglies, I’m still interested in the story solely because of the steampunk-ness of it, and my friend, of course.

Jonathan Strange & Mr NorrellJonathan Strange and Mr Norrell – Susan Clarke

I . . . don’t know what this book is about. I saw it on a lot a people’s instagram, and maybe tumblr, and I found it for really cheap at a library book sale. I should probably sell it, if only because it’s extremely thick and I don’t see myself ever reading it. Because, as you can see, it’s been sitting on my TBR for some time now.

White Space – Ilsa J Bick

A friend of mine gave this to me as a secret santa gift, and I still don’t know what to think of it. It seems like it deals with paradoxes or something, but I honestly don’t know. It sounds interesting, but I’ve just never found enough interest to take the time and read it. Whoops?

The Monstrumologist (The Monstrumologist, #1)The Monstrumologist – Rick Yancy

I was never really interested in Yancy’s The 5th Wave, but when I stumbled across this series, I was entranced. I’ve always loved cryptids and mythological creatures, so this one sounds right up my alley. I just have to find the time to pick it up, I guess. I just haven’t, yet, because…y’know, the TBR.

Labyrinth – Kate Mosse

Again, this is not exactly up my alley, but it also sounds really interesting to me. When I explained it to my friend, she said it sounded right up her alley, so I really want to try it, for her if not for anything else.

What are some books you’ve been meaning to read forever? Are you still interested in reading them, or are you going to delete them now? Do you share any of those books on my list? Tell me in the comments!
