No matter where I look, I for some reason cannot find the original creator of this tag. So, if you know (or if you created it!) please tell me! Here are 26 questions, for each letter of the English alphabet. Enjoy!
A – Author You’ve Read the Most Books From
Sadly, probably Erin Hunter, who’s well known for those Warrior cat books. My favorite character was Firestar, because I was a sucker for orange cats. Second most would probably be Dean Koontz, who I haven’t read recently with the realization that he’s pretty sexist, and kinda racist.
B – Best Sequel Ever
I’ve had a few that I’ve enjoyed a lot, but some of the best have been The Edge of the Abyss, Curved Horizon, The Burning Bridge, and Assassin’s Quest (which is technically a book 3, but it can be considered a sequel.) I’ve been having some horrible luck when it comes to series, so I have to be honest and say that the majority of sequels are lackluster, and that I rarely make it past the second book if it’s not half as good as the first.
C – Currently Reading
Okay, now that I’m at this one, you can see that I was cheating a little with the last one. I’m currently reading Curved Horizon by Taylor Brooke, sequel to Fortitude Smashed. I’m also currently (re)reading Frankenstein for school, and buddy-reading Piecing Me Together by Renee Watson. And, whenever I have to read something else, I’m reading Dead Boys by Gabriel Squailia. As you can probably tell, I read a lot of books at once.
D – Drink of Choice While Reading
Coffee! Preferably the strongest stuff you can find, no sugar, no creamer.
E – E-Reader or Physical Book?
Depends! I don’t have an e-reader, but I often read e-books/e-ARCs off my phone. Sometimes it’s a pain in the ass, especially if I’m reading off a PDF, but other times it’s very convenient. I carry my phone everywhere, but sometimes I can’t bring a book (like to work), so I can read on my phone when I’m not busy. Overall, I prefer physical books because they give me something solid to hold onto. I often feel disconnected from the book/story when reading e-books, mainly because I’m not holding something physical. I think that’s something more personal, though, and not something that many others can relate to.
F – Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Dated in High School
Well. I’m still in high school, first off. Second, I am very ace and very demi, so probably . . . . no one? I mean, there’s plenty of characters I would love to cuddle with, or be friends with, but no one I would have dated. Dated as a whole just seems very awkward to me.
G – Glad You Gave This Book a Chance
The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black!!! I was getting really annoyed with the stereotypical heterosexuality in this book, but then it just so very gay and I loved it. You can read my solid, four star review here!
Other than that, the only book I can think of that fits this is The Rules and Regulations for Mediating Myths and Magic by F.T. Lukens! It was a hilarious read that I hadn’t been intending to read until a publicist offered one to me when I was getting a different ARC! Here’s my review!
H – Hidden Gem Book
MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER, MASK OF SHADOWS BY LINSEY MILLER–whoops.
I – Important Moment in Your Reading Life
The first moment that I loved a series so much that I skipped reading the third because it wasn’t available, and continued reading the fourth.
That was also the day I realized I loved living the lives of fictional characters more than I liked my own life.
J – Just Finished
A Night at the Mall by M. Hollis and Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh!!
Both were really good, and both had sapphic romances!
K – Kinds of Books You Won’t Read
There’s really not much I won’t read. I don’t read a lot of romance or thriller anymore, though. I’ll read any age range, middle grade to adult, because I only really care if the story was decent. Why does the age of a protagonist matter to the story?
L – Longest Book You’ve Read
Probably A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin. I think that ranks within the 1,200s? The entire Ice and Fire series are the longest books I’ve read, I think, and I haven’t read anything that measures to their length in a long while.
M – Major Book Hangover Because of . . .
Y’know, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten over my hangover from Mask of Shadows. I’ve been struggling for a while now. A long while now. Thanks @ Linsey. 🙁
N – Number of Book Cases You Own
My bookcase is a little weird, because it was custom made by a friend. It was added onto as I got more books, as presents for my birthday or Christmas. It’s been added onto about three or four times, and it covers the majority of one wall of my room.
O – One Book You’ve Read Multiple Times
How about a series? The Ranger’s Apprentice series, by John Flanagan! I used to reread it every single year, but recently I haven’t been able to. I plan to reread it soon though, for the sake of nostalgia.
P – Preferred Place to Read
Anywhere that’s warm and comfy.
Q – Quote That Inspires You / Gives You the “Feels”
GOD SO MANY but here are the few that I actually remember:
“i know better now.
stanzas are for quitters
punctuation is for the brave.
If love is a semicolon then grief is a comma:
it won’t ever stand alone,
but it will give you one breath,
in.” – Gena/Finn, by Hannah Moskowitz and Kat Helgeson
“Because I wanted you to know, that there is life after survival” – The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue
R – Reading Regret
Ahha, Throne of Glass, The Winner’s Curse, Love is Love, Ace of Hearts, The Lunar Chronicles, The Roanoke Girls, and A Gathering of Ravens. And probably a lot more, but that’s just the few that I could think of at the moment.
S – Series You Started, But Need to Finish
Can I just say all of them? Most series that I’ve read haven’t been finished, or I just don’t care about them any more to finish them.
T – Three of Your All-Time Favorite Books
UHM.
Mask of Shadows by Linsey Miller
Long Macchiatos and Monsters by Alison Evans

U – Unapologetic Fan(enby) for . . .
If I say Mask of Shadows again, would that look bad?
V – Very Excited For This Release More Than Any Others
AHAHA The Mask of Shadows sequel, of course! Ruin of Stars by Linsey Miller. MoS ended on such an intense note, and I just cannot wait for RoS to bring it to a close.
W – Worse Habit
Worse reading habit? Recently, I’ve been picking up books and then never finishing them. Like, I realize that it’s not that bad, but I haven’t read a full book in so long. I’ll start reading, really like it, and then just never go back to it. I hate that I’ve done it to so many good books, so a lot of times I don’t even add them to my currently reading shelf on Goodreads.
I really do not know how to stop it though. I’m currently powering through three books, but I haven’t finished a book in ages and it’s killing me.
X – X Marks the Spot: the 27th Book on Your Shelf
My shelves are alphabetically organized, so my 27th book is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury!
Y – Your Latest Book Purchase
My lasted purchase was a small handful of books from my local indie store, which included Not Your Villain by CB Lee, Dead Boys by Gabriel Squailia, Queerly Loving by G Bensen & Astrid Ohletz, and Defying Doomsday by Tsana Dolichva.
The most recent book acquirement was The Belles by Dhionelle Clayton! I won it in a giveaway.
Z – Zzzz Snatcher: Last Book That Kept You Up Way Too Late
Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh. That book was INTENSE.
Hope you enjoyed this post! I really enjoyed being very obvious trash for Mask of Shadows (and trying to get y’all to read it).
