I see a lot of blog posts about unique or beautiful book covers, but I don’t think a lot of people make these appreciative posts of titles. I think that there are so many book titles that deserve appreciation, but here’s ten of them (that are also pretty decent books!)

When the Moon Was Ours – Anna-Marie McLemore

All of Anna-Marie’s novels are said to be masterpieces, but I’ve only had the pleasure of reading this one. I love how the title not only matches the cover perfectly, but also the actual story. WtMWO was such a uniquely magical read, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The trans rep was wonderful, but the trans character is also Pakistani.

The Book of How to Live – Rose Lemberg

While the title is beautiful on it’s own, there’s so much more meaning to it when you finish this story. The story focuses on a magicless woman trying to make her way in a magic-based world, as well as another woman who wants to make a difference.

The Rules and Regulations for Mediating Myths and Magic – F.T. Lukens

The title is long and quirky, and fits this book perfectly. I had a lot of fun reading this book, but it also ending up being very meaningful and so whenever I think of this long title, I think of it in a pleasant way.

The Long Way to the Small, Angry Planet – Becky Chambers

Like the one before, Angry Planet has such a long and quirky title, but I think it fits the book perfectly. The book is long, but it packs such a punch and you barely even notice that it’s over 500 pages long. There is so much character development and I just couldn’t get enough of the crew.

The Devourers – Indra Das

The Devourers sounds just so intriguing and bloody and I knew that this book would be vulgar. And it was. I loved the explicit realness of this book, and just how honest it was. The Indian influences were interesting, and I just couldn’t get enough. The Devourers is probably the perfect title for this book.

The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue – Mackenzi Lee

If you’re reading my blog and don’t know my love for this book, you must be new. “Vice and Virtue” describes this book perfectly, especially since it has a wonderful character development arc for Monty. Also, the romance is just beautiful. The gentleman part is kinda debatable. (Ha!)

Stake Sauce – RoAnna Sylver

I’ll be honest when I say that I haven’t read the full book yet (I have read the first part, and will hopefully be getting an ARC) but the pun in the title is too good to pass up. Vampires in combination with barbecue sauce makes perfect opportunities for puns.

On the Edge of Gone – Corinne Duyvis

This title is so ominous and while the book isn’t specifically ominous, it definitely is an amazing book. The title really catches your attention, and knowing the whole story (dystopia with a meteor coming to destroy earth, autistic MC, trans sister, and lots of more!) really shows that the title is perfect for this book.

Shadowshaper – Daniel Jose Older

For some reason, I just really love the idea of being able to control shadows. So when I read the title Shadowshaper, I kinda fell in love. While the book isn’t actually about controlling shadows, it was still an enchanting narrative

This is Where it Ends – Marieke Nijkamp

I’ll just say this: the title is just as intense as the book is! Not only does it fit the story perfectly, but it previews the sense of the book just as it should.
